You know…after being by myself for last a couple of days in my office since others decided to take sick days, I came to a conclusion…I think I can handle my office by myself.
All I need is some help from some workstudy students. And I think I can manage my office.
I thought I wanted to help the others since they were out sick, and the paperwork was piling up…
I asked my students to help some simple data entry process…since they were trained by them before…

This morning, one of them came to work… and first thing they told me was SOMEBODY DID THESE WRONG…
She brought me a stack of letters and dumped them on my desk.
I told her I asked my students to do it to help HER. It’s not what she said…It was how she said it that I did not like.
You know she is the one who trained my students…

I won’t do this again.
It was for a good intention…but it ended up as a disaster.

Sad part is I know how and what to do the job in my office, but I wasn’t the one who trained my students.

Sometimes I don’t understand why her and other employee take long time to process their job when I could spend less to do the same thing.

We have so many paperwork to process in our office but sometimes I start thinking what if???
Some of us could be fired just like other company does due to this economic crisis.
Our management team is reviewing our organizational structure by using external consultants. I am not sure if they are going to downsize or what…

I just need to keep working hard.

I wrote about this in another blog of mine…but I just wanted to ask any opinions of others…
You can read my posting and tell me what you think…

Worse than Daycare

I appologized if I offended teachers for this…but is this parenting issue?
Maybe this is the cultural difference. From where I came from, teachers would do more than teaching.
It was pretty natural for me to think someone at school (if not teachers, could be school administrators) can just use a ladder to get this kid’s shoe instead of calling his mom at her work for another set of shoes.

Same school called my co-worker again last week, and told her that she needed to have a talk with her nine-year-old son…because…
her son told other female student that he wanted to marry her. The principle was the one who called my office. This principle told the mom what her son said to the other student was a sexual harassment.

Wow, I have never known that. The principle asked the mom to explain to her son what the sexual harassment was.

Hmmm, this is elementary school by the way.

with Lionbridge for Labeling Editor position. Wish me lucK!

I need to have a backup plan for my future. My current employer is planning to re-organization. That means some positions will be cut. Who knows? Since I am not citizen, they might try to get rid of me first.

I am ready to tell my boss that I decide not to take over his position after his retirement. After watching him everyday, it is very stressful. He stays late everday. He even comes to work on weekends.
Well, I don’t want to do that.
Since he told me that he would want me to take over his job in the future, I felt like he has been giving part of his jobs to me….I mean literally. I feel like he is using the excuse to pass some of his responsibilities on to me. I am not him. AND I don’t get paid like him. I don’t want him to share his responsibility. They are still his.

I came to realize that it would be almost impossible to finish my school work as long as I would be in my current position. Because the peak time of my position would be the same time with our final exams. I would be working late those days when I need to study harder for my final exams. I also have some other responsibilities like “Mom” and “Wife” duties.

In a few more years, I will be debt free. I would love to make more money but his position has too much to handle.

Anyway, I like being an Assistant Registrar. I don’t want to be an Registrar.

I just wanted to tell everyone who vote today that you proved to me the dreams still comes true in this country.

I wish President Obama will have a power to fight with all the issues we will face in this country. And I hope he will unite this country as one.

My hubby wanted a smaller car due to the gas price…and got this one…

It’s Jaguar.

He bought it from his friend. His friend and his wife really did not drive this car…they said it was a decoration. They did not want to get scratch on it so they really did not drive that car much.
They still had some payment left…but my husband paid off and got the title.

I don’t mind driving this one.

My kids brought a catalog for fundraiser yesterday. I took it to my office.
I found out something today…
I’ve been buying cookies, donuts or other items from some of my co-workers for their churches or some type of fundraise event every time for many years. I’ve never asked those people to buy anything before. This was my first time to ask since my kids might win a prize if they sell many items. Can you guess how many items they bought?

NONE! ZERO!

You know what? They don’t have to worry about getting order from me again. They were huge disappointment to me. Am I wrong to think this way?

Ask yourself…”Do we really need guns?”
Read this horrible news…at CNN.
I’ve seen the TV commercial about the organization against gun control…There was a guy who was in military complaining about this issue and telling us not to vote Sen. Obama. Then the question comes to my mind…Why does he need to keep machine guns at home??? This guy is not in military anymore, and this is not the battle ground. It does not make sense to me at all.

Despite of our economy, my household actually has some extra cash to buy some items this year for Christmas. I was planning to go to shopping on Black Friday. My only concerns were how we could do this if we have to take our boys with us. I was going to buy some large items and I needed my husband to come with me. That means we would have to take our boys with us. I really did not want to do that since they would have to see some grownups acting up at the store.
Here is the better way to shop smart on Black Friday. I can go to cyber monday. They will have various stores like Sears, Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, Old Navey or even Dell. You do not have to get up early in the morning and fight with other shoppers. You also can find nice online coupons for online shopping.
I know I am going to eat good on Thanksgiving. I rather spend quality time with my friends and family and relax next day. This would be the best way to finish my Christmas shopping at home to save my energy, time and money.

I was one of the people who could not imagine losing our job. It could happen to you. I realized that when I heard my neighbor was laid off from his company. I want to secure my position. How can I do that? I have to be dependable, respectable, helpful and my list just keep going on and on.
I have to be everything. Now is not the time to complain. Everyone is stressed right now. I’ve seen so many people getting into argument like what happend to me the other day. One thing I would not do is that I would not argue with my boss. No matter how you think your idea is better than your boss’s, you need to watch your tone. My employer use the contract system. They review your work and renew your contract every year. Some of us won’t receive the letter for the renewal. It depends on your work performance. You do not want to be an enermy to your immediate supervisor who will give you an annual review.
I don’t want to lose my job, but I always look for other option even I have a job just in case. I might lose my job simply because I am not a US citizen. Who knows.
